Podiatry
Podiatry is a branch of medicine devoted to the study, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the foot and ankle, and evaluating the general locomotor system by performing biomechanical examinations.
Our podiatrist offer services to a wide spectrum of patients; from children who may suffer from mobility/postural problems, athletes who are more at risk of injuries and traumas during exercise and sports, to the elderly/ geriatric population who are more susceptible to foot conditions due to chronic diseases such as diabetes and arthritis.
Our podiatry service aims to provide high quality treatment and advice to enable patients maintain independence and pain free mobility, as well as reducing the risk of ulceration, infection and amputation in those at high risk of developing foot problems.
Podiatry services include;
- Custom-made orthotics (insoles)
- Sports injuries/ traumas treatment and prevention (such as Plantar Fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathies, ankle sprains and more)
- Footwear advice and assessment
- Biomechanical examination (assessment of foot posture and the way we walk)
- Treatment of In-growing toe nails
- Removal of corns and callouses
- Treatment of skin infections
- Treatment of warts (verruca)
- Routine Nail trimming and skin care
- Treatment of nail infections and disorders
- General foot care advice and education
Diabetic services include;
- Vascular assessment (circulation)
- Neurological assessment (nerve supply to the foot)
- General foot care (Nail trimming and skin treatment such as corns and callouses)
- Wound prevention
- Wound treatment and other infections
